Gastonia was a small textile mill town not many years
ago. It has experienced unbelievable growth and is becoming a very
attractive community in Gaston county for the greater Charlotte area.
The recently widened I-85 Interstate highway passes
through the city, providing great convenience to the Charlotte North
Carolina airport, the north side and downtown Charlotte.
The newly opened
I-485 interchange provides a great connection to south, north and east Charlotte. This
makes for easy travel north to Lake Norman, and south to Pineville, and on to the east side of Charlotte.
However, beware of the disease! The greater Charlotte
area has become infected with Panther mania. What used to be
more like an office party at the Panther games has changed. It will
not yet match the Cleveland, Pittsburgh, Philadelphia, Washington, or
New York mania, but it has become an epidemic. We are learning how to
be NFL fans. Our team reached great accomplishments three years by becoming
our first Panther team to play in the Super Bowl. We were even leading
with just four minutes to go in the game. It was a heartbreaking loss.
However, we were still so proud of all their accomplishments. This last
year the team again had great success after a bad start. We are now
having an exciting, but somewhat disappointing season. Go Panthers!
This is also major basketball country. With top
teams like North Carolina, Duke, North Carolina State, Wake Forest,
Clemson, and our own Johnson C. Smith and the Charlotte Forty Niners,
there is a team for everyone. The people of North Carolina are serious
about their basketball. The new NBA team, the Charlotte Bobcats, has
become a reality. The Bobcats are now playing in the fabulous new downtown
arena..
There is something for everyone. Whether you are
a sports fan or just want a great place to live, the Gastonia area can
be the right choices for you. We have many Gastonia homes for sale. May we help
you? If so, click here to continue. |
